Our Mission
“Happiness is a choice.”
This mission of the Janelle Lavender Tobin Charity is to offer college scholarships, support research for Ewing’s Sarcoma, and support others as they battle cancer.
The college scholarships will be offered to graduating high school seniors that plan to attend a Massachusetts State University. Janelle lived by the words: “Happiness is a Choice”. Her scholarship is for individuals who exemplify these words.
Providing Research Funding
Ewing’s Sarcoma is a rare form of cancer and doesn’t receive the funding that is needed to find a cure. According to the American Cancer Society, about 1% of all childhood cancers are Ewing tumors. About 200 children and teens are diagnosed with Ewing tumors in the United States each year.
Our family was fortunate to have the love and support of our family and friends during Janelle’s battle. This support was a tremendous help during our difficult times and our intention is to pay it forward as a way of honoring Janelle.
